When you first walk into this cute little shop you are immediately greeted by the smells of fresh, hand-roasted coffee and cakes mixed with the ever-loving smell of books. As you take in your surroundings, you start to notice the people. They are smiling, laughing, playing games, studying, or reading. It's a welcoming feeling walking into Grounds for Thought.

Grounds For Thought is known for their delicious hand-roasted coffee. They also have a wide variety of teas, pastries, and sandwiches. All of the treats there are homemade by Cindy. I can speak for many people when I say they are all super yummy. The cakes are moist and so tasty that you might as well buy two!


This gem of a place is also the biggest used book store in the area. They don't just have books, though. They also have a wide variety of comics and vinyl that you can enjoy while you sip your coffee.

Another great thing about Grounds for Thought is that it is a great place to meet up with your friends to either study or engage in a friendly competition. They have a nice selection of board games for people to play during their visit!

If none of this has sold you on Grounds for Thought then you should know that they also hold fun events from book signings to live music!

The Bowling Green Community Pool

With the heat rising there is no better way to cool off than at the Bowling Green Community Pool and Waterpark. Just a short drive outside of town, the community pool is great for people of all ages. Recently, the pool has opened its newest addition a splash pad! The pool also has a water-slide, lazy river, and lap pool. You can enjoy refreshing beverages, snacks, and frozen treats from the concession stand located at the facility. The pool opens at 12 PM on the weekends and 1 PM during the week. You can enjoy your pool day until 8:45 PM. If you are a pass-holder you can enter the pool an hour before the pool opens to the public! Daily pass prices start at just $6 for adults and $4.75 for children.  The pool opened May 27 th and will remain open till August 16 th .  Post season the pool will be open August 17 th through September 4 th weekends only. 50th Anniversary of The Annual Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green

Bowling Green offers plenty of activities during the summer, but one of the most exciting events to kick off the end of the summer season is the National Tractor Pulling Championships!  Come one, come all to experience one of the biggest events Bowling has to offer. This year is noteworthy because it is the 50 th anniversary of the annual National Tractor Pulling Championships! The Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (NWOTPA) became the Wood County Tractor Pullers in 1962 with 20 members in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1964 the club started to grow in membership because people from different counties wanted to join, and the club then changed the name to the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association. The first year that Bowling Green held the National Tractor Pulling Championships was in 1967.   This year the Tractor Pulls will be starting on Thursday, August 18 th through Sunday August 21 st located at the Wood Country Fairgrounds.
