This past Saturday, July 11th Downtown Bowling Green hosted the 14th annual "Classics on Main Car Show." From 12pm until 4pm where hundreds of classic cars where showcased along Main Street and the surrounding areas as exhibitors and spectators alike enjoyed the vehicles, games, and music on this beautiful summer day. 

This year's Classics on Main featured over 400 vehicles with an increased showing of electric vehicles this year. Bowling Green's beautiful historic downtown was an amazing backdrop for the event, showcasing the wonderful boutique shops as well as the delicious dining destinations. The event also boasted various prizes for contest winners, such as gift cards for various downtown restaurants for a "Guess that Tune" contest.  As a fun for all ages event for the community, the community definitely came out and supported this classic event.


Taking home the prize for the Best In Show, at the 14th annual "Classics on Main" was Marion Newman with his 1956 Corvette.

The Bowling Green Community Pool

With the heat rising there is no better way to cool off than at the Bowling Green Community Pool and Waterpark. Just a short drive outside of town, the community pool is great for people of all ages. Recently, the pool has opened its newest addition a splash pad! The pool also has a water-slide, lazy river, and lap pool. You can enjoy refreshing beverages, snacks, and frozen treats from the concession stand located at the facility. The pool opens at 12 PM on the weekends and 1 PM during the week. You can enjoy your pool day until 8:45 PM. If you are a pass-holder you can enter the pool an hour before the pool opens to the public! Daily pass prices start at just $6 for adults and $4.75 for children.  The pool opened May 27 th and will remain open till August 16 th .  Post season the pool will be open August 17 th through September 4 th weekends only. 50th Anniversary of The Annual Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green

Bowling Green offers plenty of activities during the summer, but one of the most exciting events to kick off the end of the summer season is the National Tractor Pulling Championships!  Come one, come all to experience one of the biggest events Bowling has to offer. This year is noteworthy because it is the 50 th anniversary of the annual National Tractor Pulling Championships! The Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (NWOTPA) became the Wood County Tractor Pullers in 1962 with 20 members in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1964 the club started to grow in membership because people from different counties wanted to join, and the club then changed the name to the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association. The first year that Bowling Green held the National Tractor Pulling Championships was in 1967.   This year the Tractor Pulls will be starting on Thursday, August 18 th through Sunday August 21 st located at the Wood Country Fairgrounds.
