Tea Thyme at Calico, Sage and Thyme

What comes to mind when you think of things that have been popular for the past few years? Infused water, avocado toast, selfies, and viral videos of people doing some dance you’ve never heard of may be some of the first things that come to mind, but what about buying local items? For the downtown business Calico, Sage and Thyme buying local has always been popular for everyone that walks into their store. Since they opened in 1975, the gift shop has been devoted to helping you find a unique and perfect gift, the most recent way they have been doing this is by partnering with local artists, craftsmen, and vendors to add their products to their store. Each consignment partner brings something different to Calico, Sage and Thyme while keeping with their overall theme. The selection of artists that Calico, Sage and Thyme brings in also keeps their regular customers in mind for there is always something new for them to peruse through.
Two of the main things that keep people coming back are the Essential Oils from Young Living that current owner Lisa Palmer brought into the store about 2 years ago. The oils alongside the Republic of Teas tea are customer favorites. When she bought the store in 2016 from the original founder, Barb Rothrock, she already had a lot of the organic spices, herbs, and tea. The tea became so popular that opening a room devoted to tea became a natural progression of Calico, Sage and Thyme. They opened a new space called Tea Thyme on September 1, 2018 and will have a grand opening during September 7-9, 2018 from 10am – 6pm. You can make a reservation for you and a group of friends for a proper tea from Wednesday – Saturday at 11am and 2pm. Packages are also available for birthday parties for ages 4 – 12, bridal showers, and baby showers.
That’s not all though. Calico, Sage and Thyme has another room available for events and meetings. This space will even be playing host to the Bowling Green Winter Market once the outdoor Farmers Market season ends.
