Downtown Bowling Green has so many great restaurants and businesses to explore, and one restaurant that is definitely worth visiting is Beckett’s Burger Bar. Located in Downtown Bowling Green on 146 North Main Street, Beckett’s is a family-owned business purchased in 2007 that really focuses on catering to both the community of Bowling Green and BGSU students alike. One of the members of the Strata family will usually be doing something around the restaurant at any given time. This truly creates a family business feel, and the Stratas ultimately considers their customers to be part of the "Beckett Family".

Beckett’s is open for lunch and dinner, opening at 11:30 am Tuesday through Sunday, and 3:00 pm on Monday. Happy hour is offered every day from 3:00-7:00 pm, during which many different options are offered depending on the day. On Sunday, an all-day happy hour is offered. Though known for their burgers, Beckett’s offers a wide array of salads, wraps, and appetizers. There is also a full bar for those 21 and over to enjoy. Daily specials range from chicken chunks to Mexican night, and these specials definitely cater to all tastes.

The wait staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and welcoming. The buns for the burgers and baguettes even have a ‘B’ imprinted on them, creating a fun touch to the plate. Beckett’s was voted the best tavern/bar in Bowling Green and it is easy to see why. Beckett’s Burger Bar is a great place to meet up with family or friends and enjoy one of their famous burgers in a relaxed atmosphere in Downtown BG.

With the heat rising there is no better way to cool off than at the Bowling Green Community Pool and Waterpark. Just a short drive outside of town, the community pool is great for people of all ages. Recently, the pool has opened its newest addition a splash pad! The pool also has a water-slide, lazy river, and lap pool. You can enjoy refreshing beverages, snacks, and frozen treats from the concession stand located at the facility. The pool opens at 12 PM on the weekends and 1 PM during the week. You can enjoy your pool day until 8:45 PM. If you are a pass-holder you can enter the pool an hour before the pool opens to the public! Daily pass prices start at just $6 for adults and $4.75 for children.  The pool opened May 27 th and will remain open till August 16 th .  Post season the pool will be open August 17 th through September 4 th weekends only. Daycare Information with Wonderland of Learning

            Wondering where to send your kids to daycare? Wonderland of Learning in Bowling Green, Ohio is the perfect place! The owner Melanie Jackson has been apart of the Bowling Green community for about 23 years. Melanie first came to Bowling Green, Ohio to pursue a graduate degree at BGSU. She received a Master’s degree in psychology and development there. Melanie and her husband are pretty well known in the community for various reasons. One being they both run a youth football and cheerleading program that they started in 2010. They have flag football for kid’s kindergarten through third grade, tackle football for third through sixth grade and cheerleading for kindergarten through sixth grade. During this interview she will give a couple tips on how to pick a daycare that I find very helpful to a new parent or new family to an area. Tune in!

50th Anniversary of The Annual Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green

Bowling Green offers plenty of activities during the summer, but one of the most exciting events to kick off the end of the summer season is the National Tractor Pulling Championships!  Come one, come all to experience one of the biggest events Bowling has to offer. This year is noteworthy because it is the 50 th anniversary of the annual National Tractor Pulling Championships! The Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (NWOTPA) became the Wood County Tractor Pullers in 1962 with 20 members in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1964 the club started to grow in membership because people from different counties wanted to join, and the club then changed the name to the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association.
